About Suzuki Sweep Ups: Guardians of Australia's Tracks
We’re a 4WD club on a mission to clean tracks, fight closures, and keep the adventure alive.
Welcome to Suzuki Sweep Ups
where the roar of engines meets the call of the wild, and a rowdy crew of 4WD enthusiasts is rewriting the rules of Queensland’s toughest tracks. We’re not just a club—we’re a movement, born from a love for off-road adventure and a fierce drive to protect the rugged landscapes we live for. Founded on September 26, 2020, by Myles Pledger, this all kicked off with a spark on Fraser Island/K’Gari—a mission to clean up the chaos, fight track closures, and show that 4WD fun can thrive with respect for the land. Here’s the deal: you don’t need a Suzuki to roll with us—any 4WD’s welcome to join the crew and sling some mud for the cause.
The Spark That Started It All
Picture Myles, a 4WD diehard, cruising Fraser Island in his Suzuki Sierra. The beauty was unreal—until he saw litter choking the beaches and a Loggerhead Turtle dead in plastic at Hook Point. That hit like a gut punch. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not,” he started picking up trash solo. That lone mission grew into Suzuki Sweep Ups—a club that’s now 300 strong, hauling out 30-40 tons of rubbish and 8-10 abandoned rigs across South East Queensland. Suzukis sparked it, but we’re all in this together—bring your Jeep, your Toyota, any 4WD, and let’s keep these tracks alive.
Who We Are: The Cleanup Crew
We’re a wild mix—Ultra4 racers, YouTube creators, overlanding families, and trackside locals—all bonded by a love for Queensland’s 4WD playgrounds. From adrenaline junkies to bush-loving parents, our convoy’s rocking Suzukis, Toyotas, Jeeps, Nissans—you name it. “It’s like finding your mob,” says Sarah, a Glasshouse regular. “You show up, clear some rubbish, save a track, and leave with mates for life.” No Suzuki required—just a 4WD and a fire to keep the bush breathing.
What We Do: Cleaning Tracks, Changing Culture
Our Cleanup Crew hits the trails hard, armed with 4WDs and a mission to leave no mess behind. We’ve turned trashed campsites into pristine escapes, dragged wrecks from the wild, and smoothed out erosion to keep tracks open. We’re also fighting closures, teaming up with councils and 4WD groups to prove stewardship beats locked gates. Every trail we tackle shows responsible 4WDing wins. Got a Ford, a Land Rover, any 4WD? F*ck it, bring the Camry if you want. Let’s get dirty for the good of the bush.
Our Impact: Tons of Trash, Miles of Pride
The stats? 30-40 tons of rubbish gone, 8-10 vehicles reclaimed, hundreds of kilometers restored. But it’s the moments—like a member saying, “I never thought I'd see this track look this beautiful” or a ranger nodding at a spot we saved—that hit home. Our SSU shirts with our bright orange logo popping up at pubs and tracks? That’s our crew making waves. Doesn’t matter what you drive—just show up, and you’re part of it.

Myles
Founder & President
Myles Pledger is the founder and president of Suzuki Sweep Ups, a club sparked by his passion for 4WD adventures and a relentless mission to keep Australia’s wild places clean. His love for the outdoors and knack for creative fixes kicked the group into gear, pulling together a crew to drag rubbish out of the bush and keep it pristine for the next convoy. He’s all in—leading cleanups, mapping out trips, and tinkering with his red ’93 Suzuki Sierra, a rig in top-notch condition that’s as solid as he is. Ingenuity showing in quirky ways, he's even cracked turning cigarette butts into compost with oyster mushrooms—a sharp move that highlights his talent for tackling environmental messes. Myles’ story goes deeper than the trails. In his late teens, he hit rough patches with homelessness and poverty, but the outdoors—bush, mountains, open spaces—threw him a lifeline and helped him piece things back together (as well as the tough love of his big sister). That spark turned into a full-on drive to protect Australia’s wild spaces, not with grand plans or speeches, but with hard work, sweat, and a Sierra that’s faced its share—like the time it sank deep into a Noosa boghole, sucking water through the air intake. Still, it powered through, just like Myles. His legacy? Showing the wild can haul back anyone bold enough to fight for it—and keeping it free for the next young bloke needing that same shot, like he did.
Meet the Crew
These are some of the legends making it happen.

Adam Collins
Chief Mechanic
Adam Collins has been with Suzuki Sweep Ups since the very beginning, drawn in by the chance to do 'weird things in the bush' with fellow Suzuki enthusiasts. His passion for off-roading and cleaning tracks fuels his commitment to growing a network of like-minded individuals dedicated to preserving 4WD trails. Adam’s standout moment? Strapping an entire kitchen fridge to his car and driving it 15 minutes down the road to the tip—a wild testament to his commitment. He thrives behind the scenes, lending his skills as an accomplished performance mechanic, keeping Myles’ Sierra running, driving it for him when he runs out of talent/bravery, and often saving the day on cleanups. Adam dreams of the club gaining a big enough presence to sift and clean beaches, expanding our impact beyond the tracks. Whether wrenching on vehicles or hauling junk, Adam’s hands-on grit keeps Suzuki Sweep Ups rolling strong.

Timothy Thorpe
Vice President
Timothy Thorpe joined Suzuki Sweep Ups four years ago after moving to Queensland, driven by his absolute love for wheeling and keeping tracks clean and open. He was thrilled to find a crew that shared his passion, and since then, he’s been a cornerstone of the club, not missing a single event and even becoming Vice President. Timothy finds the most rewarding part in connecting with like-minded members who hit the trails to keep our amazing places clean for future generations. His standout memory? That first cleanup in Redbank Plains, where he hauled a burnt-out car up rock steps with his Navara and trailer—a testament to his grit. He thrives on the fun, unified teamwork of cleanups and plays a massive role organizing events, planning, scouting tracks, and even owning the trailers that take the toughest beatings on the job. Timothy’s vision? Leading cleanups across Australia, especially hitting five beaches in Cape York.

J Luke Robson
Dreadhead / Recoveries Expert
J Luke Robson joined Suzuki Sweep Ups to preserve the off-road tracks he loves, ensuring they stay open and clean for future generations. A dedicated member, J takes pride in keeping the trails litter-free. His standout moment? Orchestrating the recovery of Hardkorr’s flipped 100 Series, then driving it out of the track while the original driver took a breather—a testament to his skill and grit. J thrives on cleanups, driving his car, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. He finds the most rewarding part in hitting the trails with the crew to keep them pristine for future generations. His big dream? Seeing Suzuki Sweep Ups conduct a cleanup at King of the Hammers, the ultra 4 race in California, expanding our reach globally. With a playful humor, he says, “Fucks me what I actually do, Myles 🦧🦧 🤷♂️,” but his commitment to the club’s mission is undeniable.
